Free fishing weekend in Saskatchewan happens later this month

The annual summer weekend of free fishing in Saskatchewan is just about here.

On July 13 and 14th, you can fish in any of the province’s public waters without purchasing a licence.

Those wishing to take advantage should know all other fishing regulations, including possession limits, gear restrictions and size limits on some lakes and rivers, remain in effect and that free fishing weekend does not apply in national parks meaning a licence will be needed for those areas.

Annually, approximately 250,000 people sport fish in Saskatchewan, including more than 50,000 out-of-province anglers.
