QB David Watford released by Riders

CFL teams must get down to their 46 man roster by 8 o’clock Saskatchewan time Saturday night.

While the Riders have not made any cuts public, quarterback David Watford has indicated through his Twitter account that his time in Riderville has come to an end.

Watford signed with the Riders in October of 2017. He dressed for all 18 regular season games in 2018 playing in four of them.  He was  15-of-32  for 168 yards and one touchdown to go along with  two interceptions.  His release likely means rookie Isaac Harker will be the third string quarterback this year behind Zach Collaros and Cody Fajardo.

DL Chad Geter and DB Crezdon Butler have also indicated they have been let go by the football team.

The Riders start the 2019 season in Hamilton Thursday night.
