Raptors fans fill seats at Mosaic Stadium watch party for game 5

Mosaic Stadium was filled with an unusual amount of red Monday night, as Game 5 between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors was played on the big screen.

While the Raptors lost 106-105, fans were in on the action all night long, with an estimated over 13,000 fans in attendance.

Raptor fan Salmaan Moola said while it was unfortunate to see his team lose, he remains hopeful the team can pull it off.

“Kawhi (Leonard) blessed us with his three’s at the end there, but it just didn’t happen,” Moola said. “We still have two more games, we can still get this done, we’re not too worried, but it would have been nice to have that happen (Monday night).”

Raptor fan Spencer Anderson said he thought the crowd was amazing throughout the game.

“Just like anything at Mosaic, like Riders games, people always come out hard like Regina, so I was impressed with the crowd.”

Local Warriors fan Weyanee Habte said she liked the atmosphere at the stadium for the game.

“It’s exciting and I was scared to come in, but I had to come and support my Warriors.”

There are already plans to have a game 6 watch party at Mosaic Stadium. The Basketball game will be shown after the Saskatchewan Roughriders home opener in Hamilton, and starts at 7 o’clock on Thursday.
