A benefit concert will be held Saturday, July 6th to support cattle producers affected by a wildfire near Biggar in mid-April.
It’s part of the relief effort organized by the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Association.
The fire destroyed over 22 thousand acres of pasture and at least 75 miles of fences in an areas south and west of Biggar.
Stock Growers Association general manager Chad McPherson says the Argo disaster is compounded by the very dry conditions across most of the province.
He says a lack of feed supplies is putting additional stress on ranchers in the area.
The July 6th concert in Biggar features Saskatchewan country music recording artist Chris Henderson.
