Start of Riders game moved up due to Game 6 of NBA Finals

The CFL doesn’t want to get in the way of the Toronto Raptors run to a possible NBA title.

With Game 6 of the NBA Finals happening Thursday in Oakland, it means there will be an overlap between that game and the 2019 season opener between the Riders and Hamilton.

As a result, the league has announced the start time of the game has been moved up by 30 minutes meaning it will now start at 5 PM Saskatchewan time. With the Toronto-Golden State starting at 7 PM Saskatchewan time, it will allow for fans caught up in Raptors fever to catch the second half of the game.

Meanwhile, those who went to Mosaic Stadium for Game 5 (13,800 according to Evraz Place) can come back for Game 6 with the Rider game being shown first on the MAXTRON before being switched over. Once again, the cost is free.

The cost is also free to listen to the game on 620 CKRM.  Our pre-game coverage will start at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon with Derek Taylor and Luc Mullinder calling every touchdown and tackle starting at 5.
