The head of animal protection in Saskatchewan is making a specific request to cattlemen.
The executive director of Animal Protection Services, Don Ferguson, is asking livestock producers to call his office before a tragedy happens.
Ferguson says if something doesn’t seem right on a neighbor’s property, call his office.
Ferguson, says it is important to ensure livestock receive adequate food and water.
He says his office would rather deal with a minor problem or no issue before there is a tragic outcome.
Ferguson spoke at the Saskatchewan Stock Growers convention in Moose Jaw on Monday.
He hosts a one-day workshop Wednesday in Regina on animal hoarding and neglect.
