One of the top 3 winners in the innovations area at the Canada Farm Progress show is a drone flying company based in Regina.
Daniel McCann with Precision dot A-I says individual weed spraying by drone is cost effective.
McCann says the precision drone spraying of weeds is in the trial stages around Regina and Saskatoon with full commercial operation set to go next year.
McCann says farmer response to the drone spraying has been overwhelming.
He says the drone uses a micro-droplet to target individual weeds, saving as much as 85 percent of the spray from being wasted.
