Saskatchewan looking for intervener status in Alberta’s case against the federal carbon tax

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says he has Alberta’s back, when it comes to supporting their western neighbour’s court challenge on the constitutionality of the federal carbon tax.

Alberta’s justice minister says the province has filed a reference case with the Alberta Court of Appeal.

The Saskatchewan Court of Appeal ruled in May that a federally imposed carbon tax is constitutional.

In a statement, Moe said they will seeking intervener status in Alberta’s reference case.
