Expect more rain in the southwest and the possibilities of funnel clouds in the central and southeast portions of Saskatchewan on Saturday.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning to areas in the southwest including the city of Swift Current with another 10 to 20 mm of rain expected which combined with totals from earlier in the weekend will bring the accumulation to around the 50 mm mark. The rain is because of a slow moving system from Montana which is hanging over the area.
The funnel cloud advisories are for areas including Regina, Moose Jaw, Saskatoon and Weyburn.
These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.
