Pats send Alkhimov to Vancouver

The Regina Pats had to deal one of their two import players before Thursday’s CHL Import Draft where they will select 7th overall and on Tuesday they did so.

The team announced they have acquired 20-year-old forward Dawson Holt and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2022 from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for 18-year-old forward Sergei Alkhimov and a conditional sixth-round pick in 2022.

Holt, a Saskatoon native, had 22 points in the playoffs as the Giants got all the way to the Ed Chynoweth Cup final before being beaten by Prince Albert. In the regular season, he had 19 points in 53 games.

In his first year with the Pats, Alkhimov had 27 points in 66 games.
