Three Riders starters miss practice

Three Riders starters were on the sidelines as the Riders returned to practice Wednesday.

Cornerback Nick Marshall (ankle), receiver KD Cannon (groin) and kicker Brett Lauther (groin) all sat out practice. Coach Craig Dickenson says he expects Lauther to be ready for Saturday’s game. And he thinks Marshall and Cannon should be back to practice Thursday.

These injuries seem minor compared to what Saturday’s opponent is dealing with. The Stampeders will not have starting running back Don Jackson and receiver Juwan Brescacin (concussions). And quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is going to LA for a second opinion about his pectoral injury. His status for Saturday is in doubt.
