The Argo Wildfire in late April is etched in the memories of many in the Biggar area.
It took several days for volunteer firefighters from the region to control the blaze under very windy conditions.
More than 22-thousand acres of bush and pasture were burned.
Tonight (sat), a benefit concert headlined by Chris Henderson is being held to help cover some of the losses.
Jeanne-Marie deMoissac is the Reeve for the RM of Biggar.
“You know, coming together as the whole community and there’s also going to be an action, a silent auction so people can bid on different things that have been donated and there will be money raised that way as well.”
deMoissac is also pleased that the provincial government has decided to refund 60-thousand dollars to the RM for the cost of the water-bombers used to fight the fire.
The show gets underway at 8 p.m. and tickets are available at the door.
