Saskatchewan to host 2,000 evacuees from Ontario

Saskatchewan will be hosting up to 2,000 people being evacuated from wildfires in Northern Ontario.

Ontario is currently battling five wildfires that are affecting over 20 communities with some First Nations communities declaring a state of emergency.

Premier Doug Ford is thanking Saskatchewan for the generosity in helping people move out of harms way and ensuring they are safely housed during this difficult time.

This was announced at the Council of the Federation meetings in Saskatoon.
