Human remains found outside of North Battleford

North Battleford RCMP discovered human remains in a rural area outside the city.

Their search was in relation to another ongoing investigation, and involved the RCMP Major Crimes Unit.

A forensic autopsy has been scheduled to take place next week by the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service.

There are two suspicious missing persons investigations open in the area.

RCMP have been in contact with the families of both Ashley Morin and Tiki Brook-lyn Laverdiere.

Twenty-five year old Laverdiere was last seen in the North Battleford and Thunderchild First Nation areas to attend a funeral on April 27th. She had expressed a desire to go home to Edmonton and was last seen and heard from on May 1st.

Thirty-one year old Morin from Ahtahkakoop First Nation was last seen or heard from on July 10th, 2018.

The investigation is ongoing.
