One man has been taken into custody after police discharged a taser.

Regina Police say at about 5:26 Tuesday morning, officers were called to the 2200 block of Cameron Street for a report of a man trying to steal a vehicle.

The suspect fled on foot once police arrived.

RPS says the man was taken into custody after the taser was deployed.

Officers add that the man did receive medical treatment before being taken to cells.

The investigation is ongoing.
