Saskatchewan farmers are being asked to share their opinion on adjusting seed royalties.
APAS president Todd Lewis says an online survey has been launched to hear farmers view of future seed royalties.
He says two federal models have been opposed by APAS members.
Lewis wants to hear from farmers before a resumption of federal discussions on the seed royalty issue.
He says, “we just want to get producers’ input on the value creation model that have been presented on seed royalties over the last six months.”
He adds, “there have been a couple of models presented by Agriculture Canada and our membership wasn’t happy with what was presented.”
Lewis is hoping to see a more producer-led model for a seed royalty structure.
