Oil spill in Moose Jaw

The clean-up is on in Moose Jaw after oil was discovered in the creek near the Hillcrest Golf Course Wednesday morning.

In a release from the City issued Wednesday afternoon, the oil, which was unused motor oil, was discovered in the creek near Main Street North and got into the creek through a storm drain from a business.

The statement says the leak was contained and there is no contamination to the Moose Jaw River.

The Ministry of the Environment and local contractors are working on the clean-up. They expect it to be done sometime Friday.
