SaskTel workers vote to strike

SaskTel workers have given a strong mandate to take strike action as they look for a new contract.

The union representing the workers, Unifor Local 15, says in a statement that members have made their intentions clear with the vote, but it has been agreed upon nothing will happening pending the outcome of bargaining meetings scheduled for August 12, 13 and 14.

Union local president Dave Kuntz says they are hopeful an agreement can be reached so there are no service disruptions.

The workers are looking for improvements to pay, job security and provisions related to mental health.
