Hughes & Evans recognized by CFL for their play in win over B.C.

Two of the three CFL performers of the week for Week 6 of the CFL season are members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Charleston Hughes had one of the best games of his career in the 38-25 win over the B.C. Lions as he sacked Mike Reilly three times while adding two tackles for a loss, a career-high ten tackles and two forced fumbles.  Hughes now leads the CFL with eight sacks.

Shaq Evans had five catches for a career-high 158 yards and a touchdown.  He now has 20 catches for 408 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

The other performer of the week was Winnipeg’s Matt Nichols.

After taking Sunday and Monday off, the Riders get back onto the Mosaic Stadium turf Tuesday to get ready for the rematch against the Lions in Vancouver.  That game goes Saturday starting at 5 o’clock on 620 CKRM with our pre-game show starting at 2.
