(Gloria) Leave the Goods to the Pros

Thank you Seth & Leah for the #Breakfast #CornDog, but you know what; I’ll leave fair food up to the professionals.

The Queen City Ex is setting up next week.  The buzz about “Fair Food” is bouncing all over the office.  If you’re trying to watch the calorie intake, indulging in high sodium and fat treats may not be for you.  Perhaps you would rather take a bag of celery and carrots to the event.   I would caution that celery is as expensive as purchasing a bag of mini donuts.

The store bought Pogo Corn Dog I tested, was Breakfast infused which means it had a hit of smoky bacon to it.  And now as I reflect, it was actually okay.  Is the Corn Dog one of your “go-to” stops in the summer.  How long do you think the midway concessions leave their corn dogs under a heat lamp?  I’m sure at supper time peak they go like crazy.   The prep person is dipping wieners into the corn batter then dipping them into the boiling oil at a constant pace!  With each show is their new oil in that vat?  Do they change it every day?   I guess only the concession worker knows!  Or your gut.

The Corn Dog is tasty and at least once a year, you have to have it.  This is not a food to be bought at the grocery store as a staple of your weekday meals, nor one that you keep at work.  I can however, see kids enjoying it at a birthday party.

The concessions at any big fair are always exciting, not just the rush of handing over a twenty dollar bill and getting little to no change back, but the taste explosion you get in your mouth!  Hopefully, the explosion doesn’t work its way through your body, if you know what I mean!

Dont’ just settle for the sights and sounds of the exhibition, take some extra cash to enjoy the tastes too.
