B.C. murder suspects still not found as officials ramp up search numbers

It’s been nearly a week since the last confirmed sighting of two murder suspects in northern Manitoba, but RCMP say there’s no information to suggest the young men have left the area.

18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky and 19-year-old Kam McLeod are wanted in relation to three killings in northern B.C. earlier this month.

Police have been going door-to-door in Gillam, Manitoba this weekend, checking every home and even abandoned buildings in the remote town and surrounding areas.

Officers are getting help from dogs, drones, a high-tech military aircraft and a First Nations-led search group known as the Bear Clan Patrol.
