Meili makes one last request to two outgoing SaskParty MLA’s

Provincial NDP leader Ryan Meili is once again calling for a pair of Saskatchewan Party MLA’s to resign seeing they are also candidates for the Conservatives in the upcoming federal election.

Meili says both Corey Tochor (toker) and Warren Steinley should resign before August 6 with byelections being called. If they don’t, Premier Moe doesn’t have to call byelections meaning the people in the two ridings affected would not have had an MLA for 14 months.

Meili says it is wrong for the pair to slow-walk their resignation and its wrong to deny the people who elected you a voice for well over a year so for their sake they should step down.

Premier Scott Moe has said the two MLAs are following the rules and that NDP candidate John Solomon did the same thing in 1993.

He adds the pair continue working on behalf of their constituents and engage citizens on the priorities they want their government to act on
