The Saskatchewan Roughriders got what they hoped for when they signed free agent runningback William Powell in the off season.
Last week Powell ran for 146 yards and three touchdowns in the green and whites 45-18 win in B.C. and was named one of the CFL’s Top Performers for Week 7.
Coach Craig Dickenson said Powell has fit in right from the get go.
“He’s picked up the system really well, and he’s running hard, so we’re real happy with him,” Dickenson said. He’s also a good guy, he fits in real well with the culture of the locker room and has really developed into one of the leaders on the team,” said Dickenson.
The Riders can move over .500 for the first time this season Thursday night, it won’t be an easy task though with the 5-1 Hamilton Tiger-Cats in town.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
