Northern Saskatchewan RCMP investigating two drownings this week

RCMP detachments in Northern Saskatchewan have dealt with two drowning deaths this week.

On Wednesday, RCMP in Pelican Narrows were called to Father’s Lake for a report of a missing man who was last seen swimming near the rocks and beach area. After the RCMP boat was dispatched, the missing 28 year-old was discovered, and after unsuccessful CPR attempts, the man was declared deceased. The death is not considered suspicious.

Then on Thursday, Green lake RCMP were called to the Cowan Campground, where a 67 year-old man was reported deceased. Investigation revealed the man fell down a dirt embankment and landed in a small creek where the water is eight to 10 feet deep. This death is also not considered suspicious. RCMP are still investigating both cases.
