Regina Police have charged a 12-year-old-boy after a false gun threat was made on social media Monday.

Officers said they were alerted to a post that possibly showed a gun followed by threatening messages to numerous schools, police did not say if the schools were in Regina or not.

After it was determined there was not threat, the boy was arrested and charged with false information, he is not being named due to his age.

The accused appeared in youth court Tuesday morning.
