Melville RCMP have arrested a man after an incident over social media involving racist and threatening comments from the suspect who was also claiming to be an RCMP member.

RCMP were notified of several Facebook interactions that were taking place Thursday afternoon, and officers determined the comments being made by the individual constituted charges being made.

45-year-old Patrick Kuhns of Kelliher was arrested without incident and charged with uttering threats and impersonating a peace officer, and is set to appear in court September 16th.

RCMP are also advising the public they take matters like this seriously, and if anyone encounters similar instances, they should report them to their nearest RCMP detachment.
