Garth Brooks fan recounts unforgettable concert experience

An 11-year-old Southey girl had a dream come true last weekend when Garth Brooks brought her up on stage at Mosaic Stadium.

Camille Barager stood next to the country legend onstage during his Saturday night concert at the home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

She had been holding up a sign that read “Bullied not Broken” during the concert and had her favorite song Standing outside the fire also requested.

Camille said after the show was over, it was hard to fall asleep that night.

“I went to bed 1:00 a.m. and I probably didn’t fall asleep until 2:30,” she explained to MY 92.1 FM host Mark Johnston while in studio on Wednesday.

When she came up on stage, Brooks explained how he has three daughters of his own and he knows all too well the effects of bullying.

The singer was moved to tears when Camille told him how much he meant to her.

She explained how she kept her eyes on her idol and didn’t look at the crowd, knowing there were thousands off the stage watching. “If I did I knew that I’d be getting off.”

A video of the emotional moment has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times already on Facebook.
