Regina police are investigating an early Sunday morning incident where a man was assaulted with a weapon.

In a statement from the Regina Police Service, officers were dispatched to the area of 3rd Avenue and Montague Street where they located a victim who was suffering from injuries.

The victim was immediately transported to the Regina General Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.

The suspect is described as 30 years old, standing at 5 foot 11, weighing 170 pounds, unshaven and black hair.
