Regina woman glad to spread messages of positivity on city pathways

Positive messages written in chalk can be found on the pathways in Wascana Park and in the east end of Regina, for people who are jogging, cycling or just out for a simple walk.

Those messages come courtesy of Brittany Happy.

The 33-year-old Regina woman says it is an idea that came to her last year and is one that was widely applauded so she continued this year.

Happy says she had no idea what type of reaction this would get from the community.

“I had no expectations when I did this.” Happy said. “It was just something to make me happy and allow me to spread messages of positivity.  I have been blown away by the impact it has had on people.”

Many have gone to social media to say thanks to Happy not knowing who she was for doing what she has done.  She tells the story of a man on a bike seeing her just finish one of her messages when he stopped, read the message and asked for a hug to say what she had put down had special meaning for him.

Happy says doing something so easy and so simple that can put a smile on someone’s face is what makes her do what she does.   While a lot of her work can be found in Wascana Park and the east end,  she says she would like to scribble her messages of positivity downtown because of the high traffic in the area and the amount of people who could see her message.
