Saskatchewan farmers are being urged to leave samples of crop hail damage in the field as they begin harvest operations.
The president of the Canadian Crop Hail Association, Rick Omelchenko, said harvest is getting underway after a busy hailstorm season.
He is asking farmers to leave samples of unharvested, damaged crop for hail insurance adjusters.
Omelchenko also said a good sample area is 20 meters by 100 meters in the four corners of the field.
The hail season so far this year is similar to last year with about 10,000 prairie claims.
