RPS look into a dog poisoning case

Police are looking for information that could help an investigation into a dog dying of poisoning.

RPS say officers were made aware of rumours of a dog poisoning on Facebook.

Police spoke with the dog owner who said the dog got sick on July 18th and died two days later.

The vet confirmed the dog somehow ingested rabbit poison, but it is not sure how the dog ingested the poison or what it could have been in.

Police are not sure whether this was an accidental poisoning or deliberate.

RPS says it is not sure of the time or location where this happened but it is believed to have occurred on July 18th in Wascana View neighborhood park.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.

Officers say this is a reminder to keep your dogs on a leash and pay extra attention while walking or playing outdoors.
