The Regina Exhibition Association Limited is hosting a ‘Find your Play’ event at the AffinityPlex on Saturday.

10 sports leagues from across Regina will be there to give kids the opportunity to try different activities out.

REAL spokesperson Sabeen Ahmad said it’s a way to see if parents and kids like the experience before paying for registration.

“Parents can check in with the leagues themselves and the different groups and kind of get an understanding of how those groups and leagues work,” Ahmad said. “The kids can get a feel for the sport and see if it’s something they are into, and if so they can kind of go ahead in terms of registering or trying it out further.”

Ahmad said it’s an opportunity to allow kids to see if they like the different activities.

“(When) I was younger, there were a lot of things I registered for and after I was registered, I had realized it wasn’t something I was into,” Ahmad said. “This at least gets you the chance to try it out before you kind of commit to it.”

“Obviously we’ve been out all summer enjoying it, and sometimes I think when fall and winter kick in you want to do nothing but stay indoors,” Ahmad said. “Now that people are going to be back into school you’re going to find yourself sitting down more, and I think it’s just nice to have that extra-curricular activity outside of school that you have something to look forward to take part in.”

The event runs from 11 until 2 on Saturday.
