CCMA Awards take centre stage in Calgary

Canadian country musicians and fans will be gathering Sunday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary for the 2019 CCMA Awards.

Among the artists will be Shaunavon country music group the Hunter Brothers who are up for a handful of awards.

  • Album of the Year
  • Apple Music Fans’ Choice
  • Group or Duo of the Year

Ahead of the awards show, J.J. Hunter said the band is thrilled to be a part of the fun.

“Any time we get to be part of the CCMA’s it’s a neat celebration, celebrating everything that has been done over the course of the year by so many great artists and so many great industry and radio people. We’re so thankful to be a part of this great family.”

While it’s a wonderful opportunity for the Saskatchewan group to possibly be taking home some awards, the band said it’s even more important for them to represent their home province at this year’s show.

On a personal level, they can’t thank their fans enough for the support.

“Our province has done such a great job at representing country music at a national level. We couldn’t be more thankful for this opportunity.”

Dallas Smith and Billy Ray Cyrus are co-hosting this year’s festivities.
