Regina Police charge 34-year-old man after weapons offence at Victoria Ave. and Angus Street

A 34-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a weapons offence on Sunday afternoon.

Regina Police were called to the area of Victoria Avenue and Angus Street just after 5:00 p.m.

Officers learned that two male suspects approached another man and produced a homemade sword.

One of the suspects, 34-year-old Travis Piapot, was charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a recognizance order.

The second suspect, who’s name was not released was arrested for public intoxication.

Police say no one was injured.

Piapot will be in court on Monday.
