The Regina Pats have named their captains heading into a fresh Western Hockey League season.
Austin Pratt will don the ‘C’ as the team’s 79th captain in franchise history. The 20-year-old is entering his fifth season in the WHL and third as a member of the Pats. In 254 games in his career, he has scored 56 goals and 117 points.
“We are extremely excited for Austin to wear the ‘C’ this season,” said Pats Head Coach and Assistant GM Dave Struch in a release. “He exemplifies what it means to be a Pat and his leadership on and off the ice is a credit to him as a person and to our organization.”
Three other captains have been announced as part of the leadership group, too. Kyle Walker, Logan Nijhoff and Nikita Sedov will all serve as alternates.
The Pats cap off the 2019 pre-season on Saturday night in Prince Albert against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m.
Regina will start the regular season on September 20 at home against the Moose Jaw Warriors.
