Pats fall to Raiders in shootout at Brandt Centre

The Regina Pats wrapped up their home pre-season schedule with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday night at the Brandt Centre.

Austin Pratt opened the scoring for the Pats late in the first period on the powerplay with an assist from Dawson Holt.

In the second, Raiders forward Ozzy Wiesblatt scored twice within minutes of each goal to give his team a 2-1 lead. His second marker came off the man advantage.

Regina responded in the third with a Ty Kolle equalizer. Holt collected his second assist on the goal.

With no one giving in during the overtime period, the Pats entered in their third shootout of the pre-season. Prince Albert’s Ilya Usau scored the lone goal of the shootout as the Raiders came away with the 3-2 victory.

Prince Albert led in shots 32-28 in the win.

The teams will meet again on Saturday when the Pats close out their pre-season schedule on the road versus the Raiders. Game time is at 7:00 p.m. from the Art Hauser Centre.
