The Roughriders are winners of seven of their past eight as the last bye-week of the season begins.
A bounce back win over Montreal on Saturday night has the team back on the right track.
Quarterback Cody Fajardo said their going to use this week off to their advantage.
“This bye-week is big, I know a lot of guys in that locker room are banged up, including myself,” Fajardo said. “When it gets to week 12 or 13 or whatever it is your body feels it, so this is a well timed bye-week for us to be able to get away from football for a little bit and then get re-energized to come back for this final stretch, because this is when it’s really going to count,” said Fajardo.
Coach Craig Dickenson has the same approach to this week off, also commenting on the positive message it sends to see some guys spending their week off in Regina.
“We give them the full week off, so wherever they go is where they go,” said Dickenson. “We just tell them to take care of their bodies and get away from football a little bit, but for the guys that want to stay here and get treatment that’s a good sign,” Dickenson said.
Saskatchewan sees its next game action on September 28th when they visit the Argonauts, the green and white are tied for second in the CFL West with Calgary, though if the season were to end on Monday the Stampeders hold the advantage thanks to a 37-10 win over Saskatchewan on July 6th.
