Saskatchewan ranchers have expressed concern about an A and W ad promoting the meatless burger outside Mosaic stadium at a Roughrider football game.

Saskatchewan Stock Growers manager Chad McPherson says the Roughriders were open to discuss concerns about the promotion.

McPherson says the meeting was cordial and productive.

He says most producers are pleased the Roughriders were willing to discuss the issue.

He says the Riders are not taking sides and will hold further meetings.

The Roughriders say they were not a direct part of the production of the ad and apologize for any distress it may have caused.

The football club is willing to learn more about how it can help stock growers.
