You may want to take an alternate route Saturday morning if you were planning on using Ring Road.

Police are investigating a head-on motor vehicle collision between a semi truck and a pickup truck that happened early Saturday on Ring Road.

Officers were called out to the westbound lanes of Ring Road near the Wascana Parkway exit at 2:55 a.m.

EMS transported both drivers to hospital. The driver of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries. The semi driver was injured in the collision, however police haven’t released the severity of the injuries.

According to the initial investigation, police found the driver of the pickup truck was driving the wrong way on the westbound lanes of Ring Road prior to the accident.

Regina Police closed both eastbound and westbound lanes as they continue their investigation with collision reconstructionists.
