Sask. Government investing almost $800k into employment pathways program

This past week, the provincial government announced an investment close to $800,000 into the employment pathways program at the Regina Work Preparation Centre.

The investment is aimed to assist potential job seekers who face barriers to employment, who are currently unemployed or underemployed with job readiness and basic skill development.

This program will support 300 job seekers find employment, and will also strengthen employees skills in order for them to be successful in the labour market.

In a news release, Immigration and Career Training minister Jeremy Harrison said a strong economy is dependent on good jobs and a skilled workforce.

Some of the readiness and skill development activities will include self-marketing tools, life and employ-ability skill development and hard skill development, which may include certificate training in a variety of fields.
