New Canadians, those who recently turned 18, or recently moved or changed their name reminded to register for October 21st federal election

New voters as well as voters who have moved or changed their names will need to register for the October 21st Federal Election.

Marie-France Kenny of Elections Canada Saskatchewan said that includes people who have turned 18 and new Canadian citizens.

She said registering on-line at elections.ca is easiest way to sign up, the website also has addresses for local registry offices where voters can register in person.

An updated drivers’ license is all that’s needed and Kenny says two other pieces of identification will also work with the list of accepted I.D. also available on line.

Kenny points out anyone who doesn’t have the required identification can have someone vouch for them.

Although pre-registration closes October 15th Kenny says people can also register on election-day at their polling stations but will have to do that in a separate line before casting ballots.
