A woman originally believed to be missing has been found dead.
The Regina Police Service says a missing person’s call was put out for 57 year old Joan Stricker after she hadn’t been seen or heard from since Sunday and officers found her body on Monday.
Police say the full circumstances of the death are under investigation, but RPS can confirm that a vehicle matching the description of Stricker’s vehicle was found on Sunday in the RM of Edenwold.
On Monday searchers found a body 1.6 kilometres away from the abandoned car.
The identity has been confirmed as Stricker and her family has been notified.
The Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service is continuing the investigation, with help from RPS and RCMP.
