The second half of the Canada West football season begins for the Regina Rams on Saturday with the team looking to break a three-game losing streak in Winnipeg as they take on the Manitoba Bisons.
After opening the season with a convincing win at UBC, the Rams have lost home games to Alberta and Saskatchewan along with a road game in Calgary last weekend to sit at 1-3, but head coach Steve Bryce says there is a lot of football to play and that the second half of the season could put the Rams in a good spot.
“We play Manitoba twice and we have another game against Alberta that we lost by just one point”. Bryce said. “A win Saturday would give us a leg up on Manitoba and despite the fact we have struggled over the past few weeks, I still see a confidence in the guys and think we can go in there and get what we need. As strange as it sounds, we seem to be a better road team than a home team this year. I’m looking forward to seeing what the guys can do.”
After missing last week’s game, quarterback Josh Donnelly returns to the starter’s role. In the three games he has started, he has thrown for 300 plus yards.
The game can be heard on CKRM2 at 1 o’clock with Mark Harrison.
