Man charged after shooting at Carnduff RCMP vehicle

A 65-year-old man is facing multiple charges after shooting at an RCMP vehicle in Carnduff Thursday night.

The man was being taken to his residence by an officer after being charged with and released for impaired driving and refusing to take a breath test.

Once inside the man’s garage where they met his wife, the man claimed to be going to the bathroom, instead he went through a doorway in the garage, got a shotgun and fired rounds at the RCMP members vehicle.

The man then fled the scene on foot.

Additional officers and a police dog were called in, shortly after the man walked out of a wooded area and surrendered.

He is being held in custody and appears in court on Monday.

No injuries were reported.
