A 5-2 loss at the hands of the Winnipeg ICE on Sunday, was highlighted by three third period goals against for the Regina Pats.
The loss drops the Pats record to 1-3-0-0 on the young season.
Goaltending Coach Rob Muntain said one mistake has been truing into two and three mistakes.
“When they know to do the right things they do them and see that they’re successful,” Muntain said,” For whatever reason though we make one mistake and it just seems to be snowballing into two or three after that. Like I said, I said I don’t know if it’s pre-game preparation but if we don’t figure it out here pretty quick we’re going to see that loss column snowball as well.”
Regina’s offence cam from Robbie Holmes and Austin Pratt, both power play goals.
Muntain said it’s always good to try and take positives from any game, and the man advantage was one of those positives.
“Yeah I think anytime you look at a hockey game you’ve gotta take some positives out of it, there was a lot of things we did do well but our power play was one of those things we’re happy with,” said Muntain.
The Pats are off until Friday when they play host to the Medicine Hat Tigers.
