29 year-old man facing 10 charges for armed robbery in North Battleford

Battlefords RCMP have arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery within the city of North Battleford.

Crews responded to the scene at around 9:30 on Wednesday night. The incident began earlier that night on the 1700 block of 101st street, when the suspect asked for a ride across the city, with the vehicle owner and his passenger agreeing.

The suspect then displayed a knife and a handgun, and demanded both victims to exit the vehicle, and then drove off.

The stolen car was located near the corner of 110th street and Diefenbaker Drive. The next day 29 year-old David Soonias was located on the Moosomin First Nation. He has since been arrested and faces 10 charges, including flight from police, possession of a weapon, and committing a robbery.
