City of Regina offers healthy option to give to trick or treaters this Halloween

While chocolate bars and candies are the usual treats to give out on Halloween, the city of Regina is encouraging citizens to hand out a different option when trick or treaters come to their doors.

People can buy healthy Halloween passes that offer children free swims, skates and admission at a number of facilities including the Lawson Aquatic Centre, Fieldhouse and many others.

The city says they want to promote healthy lifestyles by offering an alternative, active option to youth at a time when sweet and salty treats are distributed.

Passes can be purchased in packages of 10 for $5 until October 31.

Parents and guardians can also bring kids to a variety of city locations where staff will be handing out these passes to trick or treaters.

  • City Hall
  • Fieldhouse and Lawson Aquatic Centre
  • Sandra Schmirler Leisure Centre
  • North West Leisure Centre
  • South Leisure Centre
  • City hall
  • Cathedral Neighbourhood Centre
  • Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre
  • mâmawêyatitân centre
  • Glencairn Neighbourhood Centre

Passes will be handed out while supplies last.
