While chocolate bars and candies are the usual treats to give out on Halloween, the city of Regina is encouraging citizens to hand out a different option when trick or treaters come to their doors.
People can buy healthy Halloween passes that offer children free swims, skates and admission at a number of facilities including the Lawson Aquatic Centre, Fieldhouse and many others.
The city says they want to promote healthy lifestyles by offering an alternative, active option to youth at a time when sweet and salty treats are distributed.
Passes can be purchased in packages of 10 for $5 until October 31.
Parents and guardians can also bring kids to a variety of city locations where staff will be handing out these passes to trick or treaters.
