A man who loved Regina and did many things to help a city he loved has died at the age of 93.
Gord Staseson held many positions during his life including president of Riders from 1979-81. He also served in many capacities with organizations like the Queen City Kinsmen, the Regina Economic Development Authority and the Regina Exhibition Association.
He was instrumental in construction of several buildings at Evraz Place including the Agridome and Queensbury Centre.
He also co-founded the Saskatchewan Roughriders Plaza of Honour and was named as an inductee in 1993.
He has been recognized for his efforts by becoming a Member of the Order of Canada and getting an honorary doctorate from the University of Regina. A public celebration of Staseson’s life will occur, but a date has not been announced.
