(Jamie) Some Monday Morning Thoughts

I hope everyone had a most wonderful Thanksgiving long weekend.

We had our usual family get together in Craven on Saturday and I came home with the same thought I always have after a Thanksgiving feast…that I’ll never eat again! Fortunately that feeling subsided and I went on eating right through the rest of the weekend. It went so well that I might even eat again today.

Saturday morning my wife and I did something we hadn’t done before. We went down and cast our vote in advance of next Monday’s election. We were the only two there when the polling station opened up at 9. By that time we had already been to a few stores to get some shopping done. It was my wife that wanted to vote in advance. Personally, I enjoy the hustle bustle of a polling station on election day. So that’s done and out of the way.

Yesterday I ran into an old friend at the grocery who wanted to know whether or not I got my leaves raked up like I said I was going to on the radio last week. In a word, no. I’d better start watching what I say on the radio.

Over the Thanksgiving weekend people look at all they have to be thankful for. I’m just thankful I won’t see another turkey until Christmas.
