One dead after accident near Moose Jaw; eastbound lane of Highway 1 closed

RCMP have closed both eastbound lanes of the Trans-Canada highway, approximately 5 kilometres west of Moose Jaw after a fatal two-vehicle collision late Wednesday afternoon.

Just after 5:30, the two vehicles hit one another in the eastbound lane resulting in one person being killed.

Detours are in place to redirect traffic through the City of Moose Jaw and Moose Jaw RCMP, RCMP traffic analysts and Saskatchewan Highway representatives are on scene. As the investigation progresses, westbound lanes could be partially or completely closed.

It is not known when the highway will re-open to traffic as normal.
